However, money-saving expert Martin Lewis has shared his guide for how to still get a Christmas delivery slot from supermarkets such as Iceland, Co-Op, Aldi and Morrisons.
Here’s how you can still manage to get a Christmas delivery slot:
Iceland
Festive food slots at Iceland are available nationwide to book six days in advance.
For example, deliveries for Tuesday 22 December will be available from today.
There’s a minimum spend of £25, and deliveries will be available up to 23 December.
You can find out more or book a slot here.
Co-op
Delivery slots at Co-op are released five days in advance, so Christmas Eve slots should be available from Sunday, December 20.
There is a £15 minimum spend.
The service is only available in selected stores - you can check here if your local store takes part.
Co-op is available on Deliveroo too, so you may want to try that as an alternative too - you just need to put in your postcode on the Deliveroo app and click through to the ‘grocery’ section to see if you’re eligible.

Aldi
Like Co-op, Aldi also partners with Deliveroo and has a range of essential items available.
There is a small Christmas section available on the Deliveroo app.
According to MSE though, the prices on Deliveroo are higher than in the supermarket itself.
You can check if your local store takes part by entering your postcode and clicking ‘groceries’ to see which stores participate.
Items can arrive within an hour if ordered via Deliveroo.
Morrisons
Morrisons is also on Deliveroo, with around 300 products available to order.
You can check if your local store takes part by entering your postcode and clicking ‘groceries’ to see which stores participate.
Morrisons launch ‘Making Christmas Special’ advert
Morrisons, like many other supermarkets, is working hard making sure shoppers have everything they need for Christmas. With a hike in demand for delivery services this year, the supermarket giant has teamed with delivery service Deliveroo just in time for the big day.
Supermarkets have seen a rise in online demand this year after the pandemic has seen less people travelling into stores to do their shop.
With Morrisons recently releasing their Christmas delivery slots, there are also other ways shoppers can get their festive food delivered.
Customers can now order Morrisons’ Christmas food via the Deliveroo app to be delivered to their home.
35 Christmas products have been added to the Morrisons Deliveroo, which now takes the total to 300 grocery items.

The selection includes festive favourites like mince pies, mulled wine and pigs in blankets.
Party food from Morrisons ‘The Best’ range can also be selected on the vast offering of Christmas food available.
Customers can pick from baked Camembert, pork belly bites as well as deep filled mince pies and salted caramel cheesecake.
Amy Bishop, Deliveroo Account Manager at Morrisons, said: “We’re delighted to be able to spread a bit of festive cheer and help customers who are craving Christmas treats and just can’t wait until their next big shop.
