Alex: Slowly but surely, Melbourne has become our second home. At least a month out of every year is spent in one of my favourite cities in the world and I’m certain I can say that I know the city better than half my friends that actually live there!

Whenever we come down we like to spoil ourselves a bit and spend a few days in a hotel. We then spend the rest of the time in an AIRBNB.
Last time we stayed at The Langham, and this time we decided on the newest out of the Crown buildings, Crown Metropol.
If you need a break from the madness of Las Vegas, you'll have an abundance of high quality burger chains to eat at. Choose from the best five restaurants. The World’s online gaming authority. Alfred’s menu hosts huge varieties of burger and all super reasonably priced! The classic Aussie hamburger with egg, cheese & bacon! Crown Casino, Burswood. The Merrywell is a packed establishment right off the gaming floor at Crown Perth, bringing Perth unashamed greasy, yet quality ‘dude food’ with American style fair.
Walking into the spacious room you are enveloped with uninterrupted views of Southbank, with a view to the CBD on the left-hand side. A burnt orange carpet provides a striking dash of colour and further enhances the oriental vibe of the hotel room.

Relaxing on the king bed was very easy to do with such a beautiful view.
Crown Metropol had an interesting bathroom design with sliding doors that further enhanced the contemporary/oriental style. I loved the clever touch of the neon lights that mimicked the colour of the carpet. The bathroom was actually very large, and the room itself was 38 square meters, perfect for separation when you’re stuck with your big sis.
The Metropol is the Crown’s third hotel and is a more modern and contemporary fit-out compared to its sister hotels. Location wise it’s in a great spot as it’s close to the city…and the casino which is potentially very dangerous!

Bianca: I don’t really do snackages… I’m not the type of person to buy a bag of chips or lollies and demolish them in an evening. Preferring to buy a good quality block of chocolate and nibbling on it over the course of a week or so. BUT, when I’m in Melbourne all bets are off. And my snacks generally come in the form of Croissants and/ or doughnuts. This time around, our favourite croissants in Melbourne. The Almond & Matcha Croissant from Agathe Patisserie, at the South Melbourne Markets. Everyone talks about Lune but for me, Agathe kills the Almond Croissant game.

And just for the sake of being ridiculous… burgers delivered to the Crown Metropol. California Burgers have been in operation since 2009, originally starting as a souvlaki joint with a secret burger menu. Their take is a slant on ‘California style’ burgers i.e In N Out vain. Alex and I shared a ginormous feast for 5 that left us cradling some rather ridiculous food babies. Our favourites were the L.A.X Burger $14, Compton Burger $12 and the East LA Burger $12. The Cheese Fries w/bacon $12 are on the guilt-inducing side but when you’re eating 5 burgers between two people who’s complaining about some fries? I loved the freshness of the burgers, the raw onion and the smashed patties. I even found myself enjoying the OTT amount of crispy water, my usual arch nemesis. These are some pretty tasty burgers and I’d definitely be keen to try them fresh in store as they were close to cold once we finally tucked in.
Until next time!
